Summary

Set in the city of Stormreach, DDO takes place on the fictional continent of Xen'drik within the world of Eberron, a popular Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting. Xen'drik is a largely uncharted and untamed region, once home to the mighty Advanced Giant Civilization that was wiped out thousands of years ago. Players can design their characters using the updated D&D 3.5 rule system and explore both indoor and outdoor areas, including various dungeons.

Storyline

After creating their character, the player begins the game stranded on the coast of Korthos Island. They are aided by a group of locals—Jeets, Cellimas, and Talbron—who seek to put an end to the Sahuagin's dominance and drive them back into the ocean. A powerful dragon named Aussircaex is terrorizing the island, under the control of a Mindflayer using the Mindsunder Artifact. When the player destroys the artifact, Aussircaex turns on the Mindflayer, defeating it and restoring peace to Korthos Island, ending the Sahuagin's reign. With their reputation established on Korthos, the player is then sent to Stormreach to build their fame and eliminate all threats to the city.
