F.E.A.R. Extraction Point serves as the first standalone expansion for the video game F.E.A.R. One of the key new gameplay features introduced is Reflex Time, a power that slows the game environment while letting the player aim and respond at regular speed. This mechanic is used to portray the protagonist's enhanced reflexes, enhanced by distinctive visual effects like bullets in mid-air creating air ripples or interacting with the game's particle effects. Additional new elements include the option to break open doors using a melee attack or blast them with explosives, as well as the ability to destroy crates, some of which hold valuable supplies.
The story picks up immediately where the first game ended. You, along with two of your teammates, Holiday and Jin, survived the blast at the hidden lab and are now heading back to base by helicopter, convinced the crisis is over and that Alma and Fettel are no more. But as expected, things are never what they seem. Suddenly, Alma appears on the helicopter, causing it to crash. Stripped of your allies, you push forward toward the extraction point, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead...
