The Xbox 360 version of F.E.A.R. includes an Instant Action mode for solo play. In this mode, players are placed into a modified environment and must reach a specific destination as fast as possible while eliminating as many foes as they can and maintaining high accuracy. Visually, this version matches the PC edition on ultra settings, offering high dynamic range lighting, an advanced particle system, and high-definition textures. It also introduces an exclusive bonus level not present in the original PC release, showcasing Holiday's mission to extract Bishop from ATC headquarters. This version also adds a new weapon: dual automatic pistols. The PlayStation 3 version of F.E.A.R. also includes the Instant Action mode from the Xbox 360 edition. It brings its own exclusive weapon, a street sweeper shotgun, and a bonus mission that follows the Delta Force recon team as they move through ATC headquarters before meeting Alma. Like the Xbox version, it runs at a native 720p resolution, but other graphical enhancements have been omitted for this port.
A shadowy paramilitary group breaches a high-security aerospace facility worth billions, taking hostages without making any demands. The government dispatches elite Special Forces to handle the situation, but communication is lost when an unsettling signal disrupts radio transmissions. When the interference fades seconds later, the entire unit is destroyed. As a member of a covert strike team assembled to tackle threats beyond conventional capabilities, your objective is clear: Neutralize the intruders at all costs. Uncover the source of the signal. And stop the crisis from escalating beyond control.
