Gradius Gaiden

Summary

The timeline is set between Gradius III and Gradius IV. During the "Third Bacterian War," the planet Gradius emerged victorious against the Bacterians, restoring peace to the world. Two centuries later, Gradius thrived in prosperity, but when a scientific vessel vanished while exploring a nebula called "The Evil Range," the colony planets of Gradius were suddenly attacked by an unknown force that obliterated 99% of the Gradius Army. In response, the Gradius Army Headquarters launched a last-ditch assault on the "Dark Nebula," the origin of the invaders. Four Hyper Space Fighters were dispatched from the mothership with the mission to stop the threat.
