Created by Sir-Tech Software, it was released by ASCII Corp. for the Famicom on February 21, 1989. In Japan, the ports of Wizardry II and III switch the sequence of the games. The Japanese version of Wizardry II is actually a port of Wizardry III, while the Japanese Wizardry III is a port of Wizardry II.
A generation has passed since your group of heroes recovered the Staff of Gnilda and the armor of the Knight of Diamonds, bringing peace to the land. But now, nature itself appears to be turning against Llylgamyn, as the region is struck by violent earthquakes and towering tidal waves. The Sages believe the key to saving the city lies with the Orb of Scrying, though it is fiercely protected by the dragon L'kbreth. A new team of adventurers must set out once more to retrieve the Orb. *Legacy of Llylgamyn* is the second installment (third on other platforms) in the *Wizardry* series for the Game Boy Color. Much like its predecessor, it is a first-person dungeon-crawling role-playing game where players build a team of up to six characters and explore a vast, maze-like dungeon. Combat is turn-based and features randomly encountered enemies, with occasional returns to the game's only town for rest, shopping, and equipping gear. Players must bring characters over from either the first or second game. The character classes, battle system, and general gameplay closely mirror those of the earlier titles. However, the influence of alignment—good, evil, and neutral—is more significant. While the first dungeon level is open to all, the remaining five levels have alignment restrictions, requiring the party to include at least one good or evil character, or to have no neutral members at all.
